Note
A brief note serves as a transition, possibly highlighting an important detail or reminder related to the course materials.
Know Your Way Around Altium
This extensive section provides a deep dive into the Altium Designer interface. Lectures cover creating new projects, adding schematics, managing components, navigating the search functionality, understanding supplier tiers, acquiring parts from manufacturers, placing components (multivibrators, capacitors, transistors, resistors), working with the properties panel, understanding nets and net labels, setting project options, electrical property checks, configuring connection matrices and class generation, comparator setup, error verification, PCB creation, board shape configuration, grid settings, design rule setup, and interactive and automated routing techniques. Advanced topics include design rule checking (DRC), resolving violations, and 3D viewing of the board. The section concludes with output documentation generation, including Gerber files and bill of materials, and an overview of project release, history, web browser viewing, and project sharing features. The section includes several questions for self-assessment.
PCB Design: Make Arduino Nano using Altium Designer
This section offers a practical, hands-on project: designing an Arduino Nano PCB in Altium Designer. It walks students through downloading and installing the software, an introduction to the interface, component symbol creation and pin addition, schematic completion, creating footprints and PCB layouts, linking footprints to the schematic library, adding components to the schematic, annotating and compiling the project, drawing the board shape, placing PCB items, manual and autorouting techniques, and generating Gerber files and a bill of materials. The section concludes with a review quiz.
Practice Test
A practice test allows students to assess their understanding of the core concepts covered in the preceding sections, reinforcing learning and identifying areas requiring further attention.
Who we are?
This section introduces the Educational Engineering Team and Ashraf, providing insights into their experience and expertise.
Design and Create Any Custom Component in Altium Designer
This section focuses on the creation and integration of custom components within Altium Designer. The process is detailed from downloading and installing the software to creating component symbols, completing the schematic, creating footprints and PCB layouts, linking footprints to the schematic library, and adding new library files. It’s complemented by a concluding quiz.
